Healing and Care

Care for illness and injury in Raven-Lest is learned through households, experienced attendants, herbal gatherers and practical apprenticeships. There is no single medical university or profession governing every treatment. A living House may preserve familiar movements and routines, but cannot establish that a remedy works; observations of recovery and failure must be compared beyond one household.

Learning Care

Care is learned by observing experienced attendants, keeping records of changes, and practising ordinary tasks outside a responsive House. A House may retain familiar movements without proving that a method is reliable. Apprentices compare different households and seasons before treating a remembered routine as knowledge.
