Before the Rift
The pre-Rift period covers the formation of the first strong arkivit lines, early practices of holding and admission, and the pre-institutional prohibitions out of which the rules of the House later grew.
The Rift
The Rift becomes the origin point of the principal reckoning of time. After it, the rules of entry, remaking, admission, the joining of lines, and the distinguishing of infected lines take new shape.
The principal five novels
The events of the main arc of Kahenor span five novels, gathered on the Books page. Within the canon it is precisely these texts that set the later understanding of the Shift, Infection, the Awakening, and the Cooling.
Late and disputed texts
The late layer comprises The Archive without Wind, the prequel Kahenor: The Winter Dolnik, and the unfinished novel Ash beneath the Garbitus, with which a more explicit return of the theme of the future line is usually associated.
