# Wikilayer manual

A wiki you write together with your AI agents

<!-- block:39317 -->
## What Wikilayer is

Wikilayer is a wiki you read in the browser and keep together with your AI agent: Claude, ChatGPT or Codex read and edit the same pages and keep them in order.

This manual is an example: it is written in Wikilayer and published as a [public wiki](page:3112).

## What you get

- Pages split into sections, each with an address of its own: an agent finds and links any of them, while the page still reads top to bottom. The [internals](page:59314) explain how.
- [Rules per wiki](page:55269): tell every agent once what the wiki is for and how to write in it.
- [Private or public](page:3112): share a wiki with your team only, or publish it and let search engines find it.
- [Several languages](page:59634) in one wiki.
- [History](page:3089) of every change to a page or section.
- [Export](page:56240) at any time: an EPUB in one language to read, or a ZIP of the whole wiki's Markdown, files and structure.

## How to start

1. [Connect your agent](page:4400): there is a guide for Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and other clients.
2. Give it a task; [first steps](page:59339) has ready-made ones.
3. See what it made in the browser or in the [mobile app](page:58956).

If you would rather not try it in the cloud, [install Wikilayer on your own computer](page:59317) first.

### Agents

Agents read and edit the same pages as people. Before an agent writes, the server shows it the wiki's [rules](page:rules).
