# Getting there

London City (LCY) is integrated directly into London's urban transport network through the DLR and is exceptionally convenient for the Docklands and the City.

## DLR

The airport has its own **London City Airport** DLR station immediately beside the terminal. DLR services connect with Canning Town for the Jubilee line, Bank/Tower Gateway for the City, and Stratford for the Elizabeth, Central and national rail networks. Use [TfL Go](block:62909) for live London transport.

## Taxi and road

Taxis and private hire are practical for Canary Wharf, the City and nearby east-London destinations because road distances are short, although traffic can erase the advantage at peak times. The airport's [official getting-to-and-from page](https://www.londoncityairport.com/getting-to-and-from) carries current access information.

## Why it can be fastest

LCY is not the closest airport to every central-London address, but its compact terminal plus DLR connection can make total door-to-door time unusually short for Canary Wharf, the City and parts of east London.
