Terms of Service

Short version

You can use WikiLayer for free. Your content is yours; you give us a limited licence to host it. Don't post anything illegal, don't try to break the service, and remember that public wikis really are public. The service is provided "as is" without warranties.

Who we are

WikiLayer is operated by Maxim Oranskiy PR Novi Sad, a sole proprietorship registered in Novi Sad, Serbia. Contact: info@wikilayer.org.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use WikiLayer. You are responsible for the security of your account; do not share your sign-in credentials. You can close your account at any time by emailing us.

Your content

You retain all rights in the wikis, pages, and blocks you write ("your content"). To run the service we need a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, render, and display your content for the sole purpose of operating WikiLayer for you and the audiences you choose. You can end this licence at any time by deleting the content.

When you connect an AI assistant (such as ChatGPT) via OAuth, the assistant acts on your behalf. Edits it makes are attributed to your account, and you remain responsible for them.

Public wikis

If you mark a wiki Public, you understand and agree that anyone on the internet can read it, and search engines may index it. We have no obligation to keep public wiki content secret.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • post content that is illegal where you are, or where the service is hosted;
  • post content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights;
  • post spam, malware, or content designed to mislead or defraud;
  • attempt to break, overload, or probe the security of the service, or access accounts that are not yours;
  • use the service to harass or threaten anyone;
  • impersonate another person or organisation.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules. For obvious violations (illegal content, abuse, security probes) we may act without prior notice.

Service availability

WikiLayer is provided as a best-effort service. We may need to take it offline for maintenance, upgrades, or incident response, and we do not guarantee specific uptime, latency, or that the service will be free of bugs.

No warranty; limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maxim Oranskiy PR Novi Sad is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the total amount you have paid us for the service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, which for the free tier is zero.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time, and you can delete your account by emailing info@wikilayer.org.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if your activity threatens the integrity or availability of the service, or if we are required to by law. Where reasonable we will give notice and an opportunity to cure first.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make a material change, we will notify signed-in users by email before the change takes effect, and update this page's revision date.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by goodwill negotiation will be brought before the courts of competent jurisdiction in Novi Sad, Serbia.
